Um, yea, I'll try to be. I've been very busy, but I finally have some time freed up now, so I'll try to be on often. More towards the middle or end of May I'll be on regularly.
As for the Wiki itself, I know that there have been many contributors, but I just wanted to say to you, NoWayThisUsernameIsAlreadyOwnedBySomeone, FauxCerf, and PDXBlazer, that you guys have done a really good job at keeping the Wiki updated and looking well over the last couple of months. I'm glad to see that there are still people willing to help. Back before my "time off" there were very little to no editors helping me out and the Christmas 2014 Event had a lot of content that I just didn't have time to do on my own.
I know there are still pages missing from the Event actually, some pages from earlier levels and just touching up on the format of the ones you guys have created since then, but all in all, I've got to say you guys have done well.
To answer your question though, yes, I'll try to be on more often and help out. More so in a couple of weeks, but yes.
You added a paragraph listing all the Aspirational Buildings on the Fortress of Choclitude page, repeating exactly what can be seen in the Buildings Template.
You added "It is not known wether or not this limited time character will return." to the Bunny 24601 page. 1) It is unnecessary to add that since it is in the Limited Time category. 2) You spelled whether wrong.
Edits like these, especially adding the wrong Categories to the wrong articles will be undone.
All categories pertaining to decorations (ex: Man-made Decorations, Decorations etc:) should only go on decorations.
Just because a character has a task at a building doesn't mean that you add that category to the article, For Example, just because Kirk Van Houten has a job at the Office of Unemployment doesn't mean that you add the Van Houtens category to the Office of Unemployment page, because the Van Houtens category is a character category, and the Office of Unemployment is not a character.
Just because a limited time character belongs to a specific Character Category doesn't mean you add the Limited Time category to the Character Category because the character was limited time, not the category. For example Mindy Simmons was limited time, and part of the Valentine's Day 2014 Event. She is also part of the Plant Workers Category. That doesn't mean that you add both those categories to the Plant Workers one, because 1) It doesn't apply to all the characters in that category. 2) The category is not limited time. 3) The category was not part of during the Valentine's Event.
"Do not add random categories. Please ask an admin before creating a new category (feel free to add appropriate existing ones). The only exception to this, is that users with special privileges (such as chat moderators and rollbacks) are considered trusted users, and therefore don't have to ask for permission before creating new categories."
For this reason, I have undone your edits, and any others of this kind will be undone. If you have any further questions to why I have undone your edits or how to correctly use categories, let me know. Do realize though that this is a warning, further misuse of Categories will result in a block.
Finally, I am not against anyone else editing on this Wiki. It's highly encouraged that many users appropriately contribute to it, as it is a community project. All the editors here are just here to provide relevant information for other players or people who want a place where they can interact with other players. I am all for everyone editing. What I am against is vandalism, spam, incorrect edits, or anything along those lines.
Originally, I was not going to delete it, I was just going to fix it up to have it formatted like the rest of the articles on this wiki, but then I noticed all the other edits you were making and then I deleted it so that I could undo the incorrect edits to the already existing articles that you were making and then come back to the Spruce Caboose page later (since I deleted it, it would remind me, or anyone, to come back to it).
I JOINED THIS WIKI AS I FIND IT VERY USEFUL WHEN LOOKING FOR SIMPSONS RELATED INFORMATION AND I APPRECIATE THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO DELETE THE ARTICLES I POST. BUT WHEN I POST RELEVENT INFORMATION, IT HAS THE RIGHT TO REMAIN THEIR SO FOR THE 3RD TIME, I WILL STOP POSTING 'USELESS' INFORMATION ONCE YOU PUT MY SPRUCE CABOOSE ARTICLE BACK, OK!
See, this is not being negotiated. You will stop because the edits are wrong and against the editing policy, not because I put the page back. Also, even if you did put a lot of hard work into a page, but it's wrong, I'm sorry, but it will be deleted or changed to reflect accurate information. Whether it's by me, another Admin, or other contributors to the Wiki, if it's wrong, it will be changed. I never said your article wasn't useful, I just said it was wrong. And don't misinterpret the reasons for the deletion of the page, it was deleted to remind me to get back to it and address the Category situation, not because I didn't like it, or because it "wasn't useful".
I just got a quest to make Ned condemn science, with no dialogue. I wanted to make a page for it, but discovered that it has the same title as another quest. What should I do? Note: I attached some raw, uncropped screenshots.
Ok ... the halloween update is causing my tapped out to not open... stuck on loading updates page and no progress... been locked out since yesterday! I tried uninstalling but no luck...any advice? also.. i am playing on bluestacks..not a mobile device... Thanks
Hi Shnopp, can you please tell me how to add something to the collapsable "Quest Map" that appears at the bottom of quest pages? Also, how do you add the quest map to new pages about quests? Thanks for your help!
Just remember though that any edit done on the templates affect every single page that the template appears on, so when editing be careful that something is not accidentally removed or added to the wrong template. Also, we haven't really figured out how to add two templates to a page yet. Currently if you do, the two templates just mesh up into one, so we just keep it to one template per page until we figure something out about them.
We haven't figured that out? You can certainly do that as long as the templates are actually done right. It has to do with the ending
</div> we just usually forget to add in an extra one for each event. You don't have to do that though. I can't think of any page that needs more than one on it anyway.
