  • I uploaded an image to the THoH xxvii event Gallery and named it MAG Point Icon.jpeg. How do I make this a Template so I can use it like this { { MAG Point } }?

    Thanks

    • I see you've figured it out by now.

However, I've deleted the template again, because there was already {{MAG Points}} available.

You can always find a list of available template for currency icons by looking through Category:Currency templates. Alternatively you can use the search to find them. Just type Template: and the first few letters of the template you're looking for and you will get a dropdown with existing templates.

And if you want something to be deleted, please use the {{Delete}} template on the page that needs to be deleted. Otherwise it is messy to find the stuff that needs to be deleted. To go to the page that needs to be deleted just type Template: or File: (or whatever else it is) plus the first few letters of the name and then select the page and add {{Delete|<reason>}} to the page by editing it. Someone will then take care of deleting it.

    • Yes, I figured it out. This is what I did:

-1) Check that the template doesn't already exist.

I think there is a Tempalte pulldown on the right side of the publish screen to check for templates.

      0) Upload an image and name it similar to this:

        MAG Point Icon.jpeg

      1) Go to a page that has the "Contribute v" pulldown in the top right corner. I think I went to the home page. Click it.

      2) Select Add a page

      3) Type in a name in the "What do you want to call it?" field i.e.: Template:MAG Point

      Click Add a Page button

      4) In the "Edit template type" dialog check (*) Infoicon

      then click Save button

      5) Edit and paste in this markup

      - - -

      [[File:MAG Point Icon.jpeg|x20px|link=MAG Point]]<noinclude>[[Category:Currency templates]]</noinclude>

      - - -

      Save and publish it

      6) use the template like this:

      { { MMG Point } }

    • Yes, that's basically it.

Note: Extra spaces not needed in puctuation markup but I had to add them so the markup won't expand in my post.

You can always surround something with <nowiki> and </nowiki> if you want it to be displayed the way you write it.

      For example if you write

      <nowiki>[[File:MAG Point Icon.jpeg|x20px|link=MAG Point]]<noinclude>[[Category:Currency templates]]</noinclude></nowiki>

      you will get

      [[File:MAG Point Icon.jpeg|x20px|link=MAG Point]]<noinclude>[[Category:Currency templates]]</noinclude>

If you're interested in more details, you can take a look at Help:Templates and Help:Wikitext.

    • Thanks for the nowiki tip. I changed my post to use it.

  • The images shown on category pages (and through the "related pages" feature) must meet certain criteria. One of those (among others) is a minimum size. I suppose that's why the image didn't appear.

I admit that the image displayed in the category-pages is pretty useless, but I don't think that it's important enough to invest too much time into it, the chosen images are generally just out of our control. If added we would still need to find a way to hide the additional image from public view on the page itself.

PS If you want an image (or something else) deleted, please use the {{Delete}} template for this purpose. It places the image in Category:Candidates for deletion where they can be easily found.

  • I guess I should put the images somewhere else. Do you know where a better place would be?

A better name would be "Level 61 - n" since you get 1 donut after 40000 XP. I have images for Levels 63 to 92 so far and would like to upload them somewhere.

I've added your levelup screens to a new section on the Experience page. Feel free to add more of them there.
